Tulip Fields Quilt Block
Share
I'm so excited to share the August Quilt Block Mania block with you. This month's theme is Farming. I immediately though of the tulip fields in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands is the number one tulip producing country in the world. They provide over 60% of the world’s tulips bulbs, producing over 3 billion per year. In 1960 tulips were introduced to the Noordoostpolder area of the Netherlands, making it one of largest tulip region in the country, producing 2000 hectares of blooms and over 1 billion bulbs annually.
The rows of brightly colored blooms, stretching as far as the eye can see, was the inspiration for the Tulip Fields quilt block, which is entirely Foundation Paper Pieced, and finishes at 12” x 12”.
The Tulip Fields FPP quilt block pattern is free through the month of August when you sign up for my newsletter.
