Let me help you make your quilt pattern the best that it can be.

I have been quilting for over 20 years and was a contract auditor (accountant) for almost a decade. This experience has ensured that I have strong math skills, an attention to detail, and an eye for catching errors. I would love to hear from you and help with your pattern.

What is Technical Editing

Your quilt patterns are the face of your business. Technical editing helps to ensure that your patterns are polished, professional, and easy to understand.

Here is what I review as part of a tech edit:

  • Quilt Math: Checking for accuracy in measurements, calculations, and fabric requirements.
  • Diagrams, Instructions & Terminology:  Improving clarity, maintaining consistency, and checking for accuracy.
  • Grammar, Spelling & Formatting: Polishing the text for a professional finish.
  • Clarity & Consistency: Check that instructions are clear, well-structured, and logical.
  • Overall Pattern Flow: Making sure your instructions are easy to read and follow.

Pricing, Payment, & Turnaround 

Once I receive your quilt pattern, I will typically have tech edits back to you in 5 to 10 business days. If you need a faster turnaround please reach out to me so that we can discuss (a rush services fee may apply).

$35/hour, billed in 5 minute increments. An average pattern usually takes me 2-4 hours, however, each pattern is different and times may vary. 

Payment is due within 2 weeks or before pattern launch, whichever is first. 

My preferred format to work with is PDF files, where I will use highlights and comments. I can also work with different formats, please reach out to me so that we can discuss.
