Hospital Sant Pau Quilt Block

I'm so excited to share the June Quilt Block Mania block with you. This month's theme is Medical/Hospital. I immediately though of Hospital Sant Pau in Barcelona, Spain. 

This historic hospital was originally built in the 15th century as Hospital de la Santa Creu (Hospital of the Holy Cross), to bring six existing hospitals together into a single complex. Designed to be a relaxing, tree lined space for patients to recover and breathe fresh air, it was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1997.

This beautiful building was the inspiration for the Hospital San Pau quilt block, which is entirely Foundation Paper Pieced, and finishes at 12” x 12”.
